OH YES OH YES OH YES!

The music from the Streets of Rage series is some of my favourite and you remix catches exactly why that is.

I want to say more, but I would just be babbling and gushing. Please do more! I would love you forever <3

Yo dude! cheers for the review, I love Streets of Rage, and I will always remix the songs ;)

This is beautiful. Really, really so.

You have really done that loop justice and then some =]

In contrast to the previous review, I think this perfect the way it is. The changes that are here a subtle enough not to detract from the overall smooth ambiance of the piece, but enough to add that bit of depth into it. Your use of dynamics is spot on I think as well.

As I am listening for the 3rd time, it's pretty fun to try and pick apart what is going on as well. I have a feeling there is a lot going on, but so peacefully.

Thank you for sharing this. I know I am going to be listening to it for a long time to come =]

ForgottenDawn responds:

Thank you for listening! I loved how that simple melody played in many different ways in my mind, so I tried to convey different feelings as well :) I'm really glad you enjoyed it, thank you for your insight

Woah!

That was awesome, and then it just ended? Fancy making an extended version?

I used to get the Ministry of Sound Club CDs back in the early 00's. This sounds like it could hvae come off of one of those CDs, if it was faster, louder (I suck at mastering so I feel the pain there) and had some kind of female vocals in it. You could use vocals to spice up the repeating sections for example, especially near the end.

I like how people are quick to tell you what it isn't, but not what they think it is. Probably because, as we all know, it is sometimes infuriating to get the right genre in Electronic music.

I like this, it does have potential.

More experimental Chip toooooooons!

I am feeling like you could make a good story game with music like this.

Also, do make it longer =]

I love experimental, discordant and dissonant pieces, so I rather enjoyed this.

I have to agree about the house tag. That was optimistic I guess.

I think it's cool the way it is, and has potential.

That and it would make the best retro game game over screen.

I love how minimal this is. And creepy. +1 for creepy.

I got some Lavender Town flash backs as well

optimize responds:

oh not lavender town OH HEEEEIIIILLLLL NNNNAAAAHHH!

I am strangely drawn to this sound D:

I think I want to do something with it. Or just leave it on loop for a VERY VERY LONG TIME.

=]

optimize responds:

this was like when i was just trying dubstep, u know mucking with harmor and sytrus and stuff i myself dont really like it, but i dont mind if u wanna use it or remix! that cool!

I'm loving how crunchy on the Guitar is! Your synths are right up my alley as well!

Do you have any tips on your drums? I really like them, clean and sharp and really well balanced with the everything, especially the guitar in my opinion. I have a feeling it is going to be a base of good samples, dynamics and learning to EQ properly, but you might help me a bit on my way! ^^

Looking forwards to what you do next!

Meatboot responds:

Ya the drums ended up sounding cleaner than i thought lol and thanks man. I just played around with the drum stuff till it was timed perfect then i started adding the tracks, so i started with just the drums track first then played to it, this next one is called the Many Faced God and there is no synth in this one. hope you like it too.

I listened to this a couple times and it's really growing on me.

So I'm left guessing at the sound engine playing the distorted guitars. They give it this retro feel and with the style reminds me of playing Doom. I am sure that this would suit that type of game so well
Having said that, if you can ever/will even get some real guitar in this, I think this would be amazing to hear it with out the retro vibes. Oh! Splatter house! That is what it reminds me of more than Doom!

The main riff is stupidly catchy. and that breakdown at the last quarter was unexpected and fun to hear. Feels like a "Shit got real" boss fight. ( I am really suckered in this retro gaming vibe from the sound, I hope that doesn't upset you!)

The only thing I could think of that I might ask about is the mix of the voice. I admire anyone who growls or screams, but on top of I really enjoyed the vocals the harmony of the guitar follow it nicely. On my first listen though, I felt it sounded really dry compared to the guitars and it was a bit jarring the first time at least. By my 4th listen I am used to it now though, but I will still be tempted to try some light reverb as it sounds the guitars have it as well.

I want to listen to this again on headphones ( maybe I should have never done it without?) and I am sure it will be better for the bass I am missing out on =]

Yeah! I like this a lot.

AEOK responds:

Thank you very much for this review. I really appreciate it.

The vocals actually have a healthy amount of EQ work on them and reverb. So I may try to add more, as per your suggestion.

Also, I am in the works of searching for collaborators to get this all recorded with real instruments for the Final Draft version of Nikurdur's Debut EP, "Morte Amator"

As far as the "jarring" feeling, I actually try for this. As I don't want it to blend right in to all the other thousands and thousands of Death Metal Bands out today.

And thank you for the compliment on my vocals matching up to the instrumentals.
